It is just fine. All of my cats seem to love inflight meals like that, or moths, and just about anything that walks, crawls or slithers. And somehow, just by smelling it the cats can tell if something is edible for them or not. In this area (coast of Oregon) we have rough-skinned newts which carry tetrodotoxin, the same poison contained in puffer fish. But the cats \\\’playing\\\’ with their food is just as much about the safety and flavor of potential food as it is about hunting methods, and my cats ignore the newts. One of my cats seems to have a yearning for one kind of spider (I haven\\\’t been able to see what kind of spider). I am somewhat leary of the day when one (by accident) bites off something it shouldn\\\’t chew (like raw salmon or a mouse loaded with rat poison).

Vepsa looooves a tasty flying snack! She\\\’ll hunt & take down anything that sneaks into her house, including some pretty big moths! It\\\’s never bothered her, and I figure they eat bugs in the wild, so I\\\’ve never stopped her. I guess instead of a \\\”mouser\\\” I have a \\\”bugger\\\”!
