It usually won’t hurt them if they are healthy. Cat’s usually don’t like the rain and will try to find a dry place. If your cat is living both indoors and outdoors bring them in from the rain. They will be glad you did. I’m really an advacate of total indoor kitties but we do have two feral cats that have been spayed that are on the outside that we feed. The do as well as can be expected for outside cats. The rest of our cats stay indoors.

Cats are pretty good at finding shelter if free to but you should never leave a cat in a confined, unsheltered condition (such as in a cage or kennel) outdoors when it is raining as they can suffer from hypothermia pretty quickly if they get drenched and left exposed to the elements.

Cats have thick fur but even lots of rain can cause cats to get sick.

Generally, toughened outdoor cats are OK in the rain. Even if they have thick fur, they may be able to get sick. Be sure you have a sheltered porch or something where they cold go if they wanted to get dry. Also, let them in if they want to come inside.

If your cats like the rain then that is fine. Just be sure that if they want to come in they can.
