I\\\’m finding conflicting answers on the web. Some sources say sexual maturity is reached at 5-6 months of age, while others state 8-10 months, and another says 9-12 months.

Good answer. Depends on the cat. Can be as early as 5 months.

I think 5-6 months is the correct one, Ive seen male cats that age begin to spray and exhibit other adult behaviours. Thats also the age at which neutering is usually done. Cats that age when wild may not be able to mate because they are outcompeted by larger mature males but I think they are already capable of it, just not given much opportunity :P

Some are physically capable at about six months of age. But at that age, they probably don\\\’t know what they are doing, and spend the next six months or so finding out that females are the appropriate targets, which cats are female, which females are ready, and how to do it properly.

I looked in my cats encyclopedia for the answer, but I couldn\\\’t find anything, but I would guess around 8 months because that is when kittens become adult cats.
