He was laying on the table, which he is not supposed to, and so i sprayed him with a spray bottle (that is what the vet said to do). One of his eyes were shut and wouldn’t open until i sprayed him, his other eye was open though, is he ill?

He may have had something in his eye and had his eye closed in protection. By spraying him with water it may have helped to loosen it up. I don’t really think you should be spraying cats in the eyes. If a cat has a closed eye, a cotton ball with warm water usually helps to loosen any goop that might have formed as nature’s way of removing a foreign object in the eye.

Good answer. hbh97, does your cat have lots of mucus around its eyes? If it does, just take a piece of cotton like catsofmany said and rub it with warm water across where the mucus is.

I’m not exactly sure what this means, but I think you should take your cat to the vet. This is not normal. Especially if the eyelid stays shut. If it does stay shut, you should definetely take it to the vets.
