About once a month, Boots, my Maine Coon, poops on the floor.
The most common places are: My desk, Daughters bunk-bed, and the floor.
Do Maine Coon’s do this a lot?
By the way, Boots is 4 years old.

If he’s a maine coon, he may just get some poop stuck to his back end fur. Every so often I find little presents, but they are covered in litter, so I assume they get stuck to my longhair’s back end fur and carried out of the litter box.
It could just be that.
He/she could just be having an accident… yes.
He/she could also be upset with you for something. If he/she isn’t getting enough attention, or if the litterbox is not clean… that could be the case. Once my cat pooped on my bathroom rug and actually covered it by kicking up the rug around it… that was a fun little surprise to unwrap! But she was doing it because her litter box was a bit overdue on being scooped!

I know... they're ridiculous. The best part is that she followed me in there, knowing what I would find... and just sat there staring at me while I opened up the rug. She just had this "you-know-this-is-your-fault" look on her face, too. Sorry kitty!!! I did NOT do my job!! :)

Cats don't poo outside of the litterbox because they are mad at someone. Studies have shown that cats don't have that kind of thinking to "get back" at someone for treating them badly. I think the main reason kayla's cat is not pooping in its litterbox is because the litterbox is dirty. Just be sure that wherever your cat poops, clean it up with a pet cleaning chemical bought from a petstore. Make sure its from a petstore so its safe for your cat.

Sometimes long hair breeds get poop stuck to their fur. Also you should clean the spot really well so they should not be able to smell it and go to the bathroom there again.
