If you got a covered litter box because of the smell, then you’re not cleaning your box correctly.

Then why did you need a box to get rid of the smell? Have you ever used an outhouse or a chemical toilet? Think about your cat going into a box that smells...

If you do clean it that often, that's great! Your cat will appreciate it!

they will probably use it, but if they dont, it may not be their fault. since the top traps odors inside the box, the cat will smell the odor and not want to go to his stuff that he needs to do in the box.
also be sure to clean the litterbox at least once a day

I wouldn’t even use that kind of litter box because it will trap the smell. You don’t even know, they could get sick from the smell. We used to have the same litter box it didn’t stink we were all happy too, but when you have to clean it you haved to take the cover off then it then it really smells.
