2 Answers  |  Asked By: Haleynorman   31

My cat is pretty overweight, and she cant reach down to clean her bum (and by now it’s kinda grose!), if I were to try and give her a bath then I’d have a death wish, so any suggestions on what I sould do?

You are going to have to help her. Because your cat is over weight and you are her sole provider it’s your responsibility to take care of it before she ends up with a terrible infection and a VERY sore bum.

Use a warm wet wash cloth on her daily and start her on a weight loss plan right away.

Do not try to use dry “diet” foods to achieve weight loss. There is NO such thing as dry “diet” food for cats. Dry foods are filled with carbs that make your cat fat. You can’t make a dry food without carbs, so there are no dry diet foods.

The proper amount to feed per cat/per day should be about 5.5 ounces of wet (high quality grain free canned or Raw Meat/Bones/Organ) food.

The calories in that amount of food are sufficient for most “normal” sized cats. Of course a highly energetic cat will need more food to keep it healthy, and a lazy cat will need less food to keep it from getting obese. But 5.5 ounces of wet food per day is a good place to start.

Here is a fantastic site that will help you help your cat lose weight!

if you are going to help her try to teach her tricks to lose her weight but if that doesn,t work take her to the vet right away or go to the cat health section of our site or don’t give her to much food but if that does not work go on another cat site and find the health section and type what you need to know
