You can try and wrap her in a towel so she cannot move around so much. If you still have problems than you should take her to the vet. They\\\’ll do it for you.

It\\\’s easier to trim cats nails if you associate the experience with something that is pleasant to them such as a treat.

Well, I get the feeling that it\\\’s easier to get kittens used to trimming their nails because they\\\’re young and more trainable- but you can try starting out by petting and pressing gently on your cat\\\’s paws to get her used to you handling them. Once she\\\’s comfortable with you doing that she should let you use a nail trimmer. Just be care you don\\\’t cut the quick which is a nerve in each nail (you can see it as a slightly darker coloration in the nail) that can really hurt them and you\\\’d probably wind up having to take your cat to the vet.

I have trimmed hundreds of cat claws over the lifetime of cat companionships I have had. Regardless of the age of kitty, I have had the most success with the gentle, relaxed route. I also begin by getting my cats used to having their paws touched by gently touching, then pressing, then pressing the claw from the sheath and touching the claw. When my cat will trust this, even if it only one or two claws at a sitting, I have the cat nail scissors nearby to trim a claw or two when kitty is on my lap and relaxed. I have trained most of my kitties and my family\’s kitties to tolerate and even welcome a trimming as a loving grooming routine.

I never have any trouble with my cat\\\’s when I\\\’m trimming their nails.
Just hold them gently with one arm, kinda like when you\\\’re cuddling, and use the same hand to hold the kittie\\\’s paw and trim away.
If your cat is totally against the whole nail trimming thing, wrap him/her in a towel gently (like a burrito) make sure you can access the cat\\\’s paws.
Good luck!!
