How much is the Furminator and what does it do?

It sure does a lot, John. It's actually more of a de-shedding tool then a dog/cat brush. The furminator quickly and easily removes up to 60% to 80% of unwanted pet hair. When you remove your cat's excess hair you help reduce the chance of hair balls and the health problems they can cause. The furminator has also been used successfully on rabbits, horses and other animals. You should use the furminator every 4-6 weeks for maximum effectiveness. The cost can vary. The small furminator can cost anywhere from 15-20 dollars. The medium-- anywhere from 25-30 dollars. And the large--which for a cat you would most likely not need-- it's 30-40 dollars. It may be more or less, it depends on where you buy it. It's a great tool, that's for sure.

The best "deal" I found when I bought mine was Amazon. It qualifies for super saver shipping if you spend $25, so I just ordered it with some catnip & shipping was free.

Here’s what Ziggy says about the furminator in her post: (which you can look up by typing “furminator” in at the question bar)

Just wanted to give a quick review of my new favorite cat tool, the Furminator. It finally came in the mail yesterday, and I am already in love with it. This was seriously the best $18 I?ve ever spent for my cats.

The Furminator for Cats
Best deal on the web at the time of my order:
http://www.amazon.com/FURminator-deShedding-Tool-4-Inch-Edge/dp/B000PU31MY/ref=pd_bbs_sr_1?ie=UTF8&s=home-garden&qid=1237732151&sr=8-1
$18.51, and free shipping if you order $25 or more. I just grabbed a tub of catnip for $7 and enjoyed my free shipping!

Awesome stuff about the Furminator:
-With one stroke, it pulls out more loose fur than my slicker brush does in 10-15 strokes!
-My cats are looking great! It pulls out all of that undercoat, but their topcoat is left looking good!!
-My cats seem to find it a more comfortable experience than being brushed traditionally (Vespa whined slightly less than usual).
-It?s sturdy & comfortable to hold.
-Not a pro yet, but? I?m excited to see how this translates to less fur in my bed and in their tummies?

Slight Con:
-You definitely have to clear away the fur after each stroke, or it will start to float away in tufts. That?s a little irritating, because it slows you down, but if you did it outside or on a towel & just kept wiping it on the towel & dealt with the fur later, it?d be no big deal.

All in all, I give it an A+!!!

Yes, it does, but that's the only thing that I've noticed that isn't to my satisfaction. It's a great de-shedding tool and worth every cent.

It only "floats" around if you let it be. After each stroke or two, just grab the fur. I just keep it balled up in my left hand as I brush with the right. I absolutely LOVE LOVE LOVE my furminator!!! :)
