It just comes when you are born, it’s like having an allergy of vegetables or something.

I wonder if you were in an emergency situation to where you didn't have enough food and had to cook a cat, I bet that if you're allergic to cats and had to eat one to survive you would swell up with hives....

most people have an allergy for cats maybe because the cat’s scent or the person skin is sensitive and their skin reacts to that in a manner to try to stop reaction

their bodies think that cat hair is something bad, wheras it wiont really hurt them. they start sneezing and coughing and stuff to try to get it out, but it really wont do anything.

people have allergies from cats because of the dry skin that comes off after they lick their fur. the spit gets wet then dries up and flies into the air or on your clothes. if you kiss or snuggle up to your cat, the loose dry skin comes off easily. this is very similar to human’s dandruff, which is the same thing.

Cats produce a protein in their salivary and sebaceous glands that some people are allergic to. This is why hairless cats are not “hypoallergenic” as some claim, since they still secrete sebum and groom themselves with their own saliva.
There does appear to be a hormonal connection in secretions from the sebaceous glands, so a male cat will be more “potent” than a female or neutered male.
