I washed the pillows that I have had on my couch for years that my cat cared nothing about but all of a sudden now that i washed them my cat gets on top of the pillows and kneeds on it with all 4 paws and flicks his tail up and down like he’s about to go to the bathroom but doesnt and he does this for about 10 minutes at a time. Is this normal should I be worried about some thing or does he just like the laundry detergent?

He probably just loves the way it feels or smells now. Kneading is good - they’re repeating a behavior they learned as kittens when they were nursing. Generally they need when they feel very comfortable, secure, and blissful.
