Why does my cat lay on her back, snore, and like her tummy rubbed?
First, my cat like to have her tummy rubbed. If I start petting her she turns on her back to have me pet her tummy. It’s just kind of weird, I have never seen a cat lay on their backs willingly, let alone want me to rub their tummy. Secondly, she sleeps with me on the couch every night, and she will mimic (or at least try to mimic) however I am laying. So if I lay on my side, so does she, and so on. Well, when I lay on my back, so does she. Of course she gets to sleep faster then me, so, I hear her snore. It’s not a purr, it’s breathing, but snoring. It’s not loud, I just don’t know if any of this is normal. Anyone got anything for me?

I’ve seen alot of cats roll over and let you rub their tummy, I’ll tell you I see it more common in the males. It just depends on your cat, some like it some don’t. As for mimicing you, that sounds pretty cute, maybe send a tape to Planet’s Funniest Animals. lol. Cats who are more prone to snoring are either from age, flat faced cat such as persians, illnesses, allergies, upper respiratory infections, etc. I hope this information helps you, best of luck, Tasia.

I agree, I see many cats who just lay on their back and are ready for a good scratch. I agree with you Tania, it depends on your cat, and how they are, some cats dont even want to be picked up and some want love every single minuite of the day!

My cat lies on his back quite often, and he does like to have his belly rubbed. He even lies on his back in your arms like a baby. It’s up to the individual cat. Each one has his (or her) own personality.
