why does my cat bring rubbish inside the house?
In the evening and during the night my cat will come in meowing with some kind of paper in her mouth. It’s always paper rubbish of some kind, or it can be leaves. All I know is that it’s rubbish. We leave the door open for her at night so she can go in and out as she pleases. We have 6 cats, 4 of them are from her litter and about a year old now.Not sure if that makes a difference having so many cats? Once the rubbish is inside she doesn’t care about it anymore, just leaves it alone.

One of my cats (I\\\’m not sure which one) finds things in the neighborhood and brings them home (a childs sock, a piece of rope with a knot in it, etc). These things are like toys for the cats. And if you have watched your cat outdoors, a leaf or piece of paper blowing in the wind is prey - something to chase after, catch and hold in the mouth (and maybe bat around) and later let it go when it no longer moves around.

I\\\’m pretty sure that if your cat brings back something, it like if he/she is giving you a present.
