I was just wondering…why do cats meow instead of barking or anything like that?

They don’t bark cuz cats and dogs are complete oppsites. Cats are from the feline group and dogs from the canine group. Dogs require human attention. Cats are more independant. Besides wouldn’t it be weird if u heard your cat barking. They meow to let u know they want something (mostly)

If dogs start to meow no one will like it and cats which are quite smaller than the dogs start to bark it will look unusual.
The sound of animal should be in proportion.
For cats who are smaller then dogs have meow which is vert soft and sweet. While dogs who are bigger than cats have bark which is very loud and also helpful to catch thieves if others don’t know that there are thieves. Well i am not talking about who catches thieves but telling its their nature and their properties of doing it
