If a dog comes to close to a cat, they will get protective as they sence danger. They might claw, hiss at or both at a dog if it gets to close to it. Sometimes cats will do this even if they are the ones getting close to a dog.

They do it because they love to make other animals jealous. My cat does the same thing, since my dogs live in the basement my cat loves to make my dogs jealous by prancing around the house making them jealous because he lives in the house and they don’t. It’s a wierd thing that cats like to do.

Our cat doesn’t bother our dogs at all Infact, he actually likes them! He enjoys “headbutting “our black lab mix. He was raised with dogs, so they all accept each other well, which makes it easier for us, their pet parents…

Cats like to bother dogs…just for fun. They are amused when the dog recoils, annoyed.
