Every cat I’ve had or seen has been very different. Their personality, their vocalizations, their level of communication, their interaction with humans. Is it just a difference in breeds? If I had 10 Maine Coons in a row would I start to see a pattern or not. It just seems to me that there are certain, quickly identifiable, types of people but no two cats ever seem alike.

Each cat is unique, just as is each person. Even identical twins who are pretty much impossible to tell apart, physically, are very different emotionally and mentally, not to mention daily differences due to fitful sleep, or a headache, or a stubbed toe first thing in the morning. I have cousins who are identical twins, but one was good at math and science in school, and the other was good at history and languages. They were able to fool most people, but not everyone and not all the time. Just posture or the way they walked was often enough to tell which was which. You can see some patterns that will differentiate housecat from stray from feral. Cats raised with no littermates also have similarities with each other. Most differences between cats have nothing to do with breed, and everything to do with who raised them, how and where they were raised, what interactions they had with other cats, humans (especially children) and other animals. One small example would be that kittens who were raised in the presence of a dog are much less likely to fear dogs, and may even love dogs as part of the family. But there is no breed that automatically is accepting of dogs. And while an adult cat may learn to overcome its fear of dogs, it will still have in its memory its previous fear of dogs and the reason for that fear, and one day that buried fear may lash out at a poor dog\\\’s nose.

Its not just Maine Coons but all cats that are unique in their own special way. I like traning cats, not to do tricks, but to become sociable cats and every single one has been different in one way or another but if I told you all their stories it wold take forever. I started working with 2 kittens a while ago Heroine and Sky. Heroine loves playing hide and seek and takes at least an hour to catch her whilst Sky likes climbing up and sitting on my shoulder. You see 2 littermates brother and sister so alike n size and shape but so different in natures!
