What does it mean when cats bend their ears back?
Does it mean you’re doing something that they don’t like or that they don’t like a sound being made? OR is it just random thing cats do? Please tell me.

This is a sign that the cat is feeling anxious, fearful, or aggressive. Here\\\’s a great online article detailing all sorts of cat body language to help you better understand your cat: http://www.messybeast.com/cat_talk2.htm

What ziggy_bo said, and also sometimes they do this when they are playing. If they are truly fearful though their whiskers will usually point back too, if they are playing the whiskers are usually slightly forward.

datfatcat2122: I wonder if your friend was just referring to when they \\\”twist\\\” their ears? Certainly different noises coming from different directions will pique your cat\\\’s interest and direct that ear(s) toward that sound. Check out the link I posted for various differences in ear position.
