Why my kitty sucks on blanket whenever I pet him?

My kitty does the same thing! She nibbles the edge of her bed and she “quilts” or “kneads” it with her paws! I think she just wants to get warmer. Anyway, your kitty probably enjoys it when you pet him and it’s just an alternative to purring. I don’t know what that behavior is called, though. I just call it quilting!
