I want to train a kitten to use the litter box? How do i do that?Its my first kitten.

You can buy a product called litter attractant just sprinkle a little (or however much it says) in the litter box. Also I carried my kitten in to the litter box after meals and sometimes they use it. Do it several times a day.

Cats need privacy just like humans. So find a place like that and show her/him where you kept the litter box. But don\\\’t scold her/him. Its not their fault (about the litter only. But you can scold it if it bites or scratches you.). Check out the internet on cat training for more information.

How old is your kitten? Most kittens by the time they are 6-8 weeks old can use the litterbox on their own. Often, simply placing the kitten into the litter box and letting them scratch around a bit is sufficient for them to get the idea, cats naturally want to bury their waste.
If your kitten hasn\\\’t quite figured out what the litterbox is there for, confine it to a single room with the box for a while until it starts using it correctly. If you see your kitten squatting to go, and its not in the box, just gently pick it up and place it in the box, and when it uses the litterbox correctly, give it a treat so it will see using the litterbox to do its business as a positive thing.
DO NOT punish your kitten if it goes outside of the litterbox. Smacking it won\\\’t make it use the litterbox, only scare it and make it go in places it can\\\’t see you (under beds, back of closets, etc). DO NOT rub your cat\\\’s nose in its mess if it goes on the floor either. Cats know their \\\”toilet area\\\” by scent and this will actually reinforce that spot as where it thinks it should go. Clean the mess up immediately and use an enzyme cleaner specifically for pet messes to get rid of the smell.
Also make sure you scoop out the litterbox once a day. Some cats will refuse to use a dirty box. If your kitten is still in the stage where it wants to try to eat the litter, DON\\\’T use clumping litter, but if it doesn\\\’t try to eat it, clumping litter is easier to keep clean.
