Never ever “whip” your cat.

It’s abuse and cruelty and you should not have a pet if you think that is how you teach them.

How old are you?

Oh my….That is a cruel and horrible punishment! You should never use abuse to discipline a cat or kitten! Please do NOT whip your kitten!!!! He will learn to fear and hate you. You want his trust and love and this is not the way to earn it. Use a spray bottle filled with cold water, set on the stream mode. Be watchful as to where he is when you open a door. When he starts to head for the door, spray him. He must be taught to avoid the door. He does not understand that you are whipping him for going out - you pick him and he associates being picked up by you and then getting hurt. You must spray him before he gets through the door. Not when he’s outside. You will ruin his trust!

yes, why in the world are you whipping your kitten? if you do it hard enogh and he getts hurt, people go to jail for that. its a kitten!!! if you dont want to let him outside, then put him in a room where he won’t run past the door. why do you open the door around him then!i understand you need to get outside and in but you cant just happily open the door , keep it open. close it as soon as you can! but the whipping is totally cruel i 100% agree with smokey1234 and i bet 50000000000000000000 other people do too!

Please don’t ever hit a cat! it’s just cruel! I adopted a feral kitten who had lived outside before we brought him in. (We live in rural Southern Oregon, and there are many dangers outside here, including cougars and owls.) At first he acted interested when the doors opened, but now he sniffs the cold air, and backs away from the outside. Be patient with your kitten, and remember, they respond to love and associate it with you. Cruelty is NO way to train a cat.
