I suggest buying a clicker. They’re maybe $5. The first thing you need to do is teach your cat that click=reward. So spend a few minutes each day with your bag of treats and clicker. Click it and then toss kitty a treat. Repeat over and over. Don’t spend too long at it - just a few minutes at a time, at least once per day.
During this period you’re giving your cat a lot to eat, so be careful if you have an overweight cat. It might be best to use something other than commercial treats like Pounce which have horrible ingredients. What I do is use dry food and I give them just one piece of kibble as the treat. Or you could get healthier treats, like dehydrated organs or meat.
With that in mind, you might want to have these sessions before mealtimes.
Once your cat realizes that click=treat, you’re ready to move on. Remember to take it slow - don’t plan on spending more than a few minutes at a time on any trick. Choose one trick and stick with it until your cat is doing it consistently, and then you can move on to another. If your cat appears disinterested, stop. You can’t force them into this or you’ll be teaching them the wrong thing. This has to be done on their terms.
As for what/how to teach, I suggest checking your library for books. I found a few that had some good info although I don’t recall the names. You might even find some stuff online although I didn’t have a whole lot of success.
What you want to avoid doing is spending any money on this. That’s just silly when there’s perfectly good info available for free, albeit with a bit of effort (going to the library, googling).

The only thing that i trained my cat to do was to stand or “hang” on my shoulder for rides…the claws stick in deep…and the first times my cat didn’t want to do it…but eventually, he got used to it and now we do it all the time. My recomendation would be to teach them only one thing from little.Don’t force him/her and you’ll get along fine.
