If you look in to a cats eyes why do they take that as a threat?
I don’t know why but Sue(boy) takes that as a threat. I could just be looking at her and all of a sudden BAME she bits and/or scraches me. I don’t do it any more without petting him at the same time(that calms him down)

obviously your looking at your cat the wrong way. You should try looking into the cats eyes the right way from now on

Be sure not to cross your eyes while doing this. You could end up getting your cat's left eye stuck in the right socket, or vice versa. Very painful and expensive for you vet to fix.

Yes, staring into the eyes of a cat sends a message of aggression. It tells the cat, “I want to fight with you!”

Cats DO take eye to eye contact as a threat. When two cats are eye to eye, or staring, at each other, they are squaring off. If one cat is bigger, he or she will intimidate the smaller cat with this staring. Eventually, the smaller cat turns tail and is promptly chased away. So don’t stare into Sue(boy”s) eyes. A momentary glance is enought to say hello, then follow his lead and he’ll tell you what he wants next. Meow for now!
