I adopted blue belle 4 months ago. I dont know her history, but she warmed up to me, my fiance, and my roommate right away. She would even sleep on their laps and everything. Then all of a sudden, she was afraid of them, but not me. She still doesnt let me pick her up, but she cuddles with me and plays. Whenever someone other than me moves, she darts under my bed. She wont even eat or use the litter box if there is someone other than me in the kitchen.

Your cat can have a heart murmer.cats that have a heart murmer are very cagey and hides alot.you should take your cat to the vet and have your cat checked out.i have a cat that has a heart murmer and i am the only one that is aloud to hold her and play with her. she wants nothing to do with my husband .she hides when he is at home. when he leaves for work then she comes out to play. so have your vet check your kitty for a heart murmer.

great answer i never new this. you can also check out the symptoms your cat might have by going to petcentric.com. another reason she may be hiding is she had a rought history where she was abused.

I NEVER KNEW THIS INFORMATION EITHER.I HAD A CAT THAT WAS THE SAME WAY SHE WAS PERSIAN AND TABBY MIX,SHE USED TO ALWAYS RUN AND HIDE TOO.I NEVER THOUGHT OF HER HAVING A HEART MUMUR.BUT WHEN SHE WENT TO THE VET THEY SAID EVERYTHING WAS GOOD AND THAT SHE WAS HEALTHY,SO I FIGURED SHE WAS JUST A SCAREDY CAT,OR MAYBE SHE MISSED HER MOMMY.

I did have a Calico that was the same way when i was growing up. Im just used to it, so i never thought of anything when blue belle did it. My calico would run when the doorbell rang, but loved everyone that lived in the house. Do you know how the heart murmer and them being afraid are related? I would love anymore information you can give me. I am in the process of paying the vet for my other cat, so i cannot take blue belle just yet. Thanks again!
