Is your kitty a tree climber

6 Answers  |  Asked By: Daisy   908

If your kitty is a tree climber then skip putting up a tree. consider hanging fresh garland and wreaths instead. trim them with lights and ornaments, and place them up high beyond your kittys reach.

Great advice!

I just couldn’t imagine christmas without a tree though so to solve the kitty-tree delimmah we bought this little thingie from Petsmart called a tattle-tale. It’s a small box that has a sensor in it that detects movement and shreeks a loud startling beep when moved. We hang it loosely from the interior branches of the tree and if the kitties so much as bump the tree… the shreek scares them off. It only took a few times for everyone to learn that the tre was off limits!

We can all live peacefully with the Christmas tree now.

Yay for the tattle tale!

Before I got the tattle tale, it was difficult to keep my cats away from the tree. The dangleing ornaments, the flashing lights, and the beautiful branches were all so tempting to my cats. But now after using the tattle tale for a while, they know better than messing around with the tree. Trust me, it really works! :)

Great suggestion! Here’s another idea!

We do a tiny tree. My husband made it for us our first Christmas together (out of wire hangers and tinsel garland! it’s sooooo awesome!!! we buy those miniature ornaments to decorate it!!!). I keep it up on a short bookshelf unit. This allows us to have a tree, but still keep our kitties and our house safe from any giant trees falling down! Plus we can hang our tiny stockings from the bookshelf, right under the tree. :)

Anyone else have tips for kitty-friendly holiday decor?

Great suggestion! My cat does happed to be a tree climber, infact when my mom let my cat out in our backyard, i have a big tree in my yard, so I saw my cat race up the tree! He was trying to catch a squirrel! It was so funny! Actually my cat last year climbed up our cristmas tree and knocked down alot of ornaments. It was cool! My mom wasn’t to happy……:-D

So be careful…..If I were you,i would watch my cat very closely…

I personaly think that cats like Christmas as much as we do. Is anyone getting their cat a Christmas gift? I am! Christmas Is my favorite holiday. I think your whole family should enjoy christmas. So if you want(Im not saying you have to) you should buy a christmas gift for all of your
family.
