Yes, most cats can swim. I’ve even heard of somebody teaching thier cat to dive. We watched it on TV on PBS. There are a few cats that like to swim as johnisdoog2 stated.

Some cats like to swim, some not.
The Turkish Van is the cat who loves water, who swims in it without any fear. One of my cats swim, but she is not a Turkish Van. It depends on how the cat is, if it like water or not.
