It’s a tie, I think. They both have so many qualities that make them special and unique. In some ways, cats are smarter and in some ways dogs are too. And it depends on the particular dog or cat. Some cats are just…dumb. Same with dogs. But there are really smart cats and there are really smart dogs.

Domestic cats are not pack animals, which is why people laugh when someone trots out the old expression, “It was like herding cats!” This is also why many people make a strong case for dogs being smarter, paws down.

Yes, dogs are considered more intelligent than cats. It doesn't mean cats are dumb. They have intelligence but not as high as dogs.

I'm giving you the scientific answer. I love my cats dearly and think they are the smartest creatures in the world - but the reality is dogs have a higher intelligence than cats.... It's not that cats are too regal to perform tricks or obey commands, It's that they don't understand how to do them. They just aren't able to learn language and read social cues as well as dogs. sorry, but it's a fact.

I think cats are smarter by a long shot. Many people think dogs are smarter becuase they can be easier trained, but this is because dogs are pack animals. Cats are not dumb, they just do not recognize authority. In fact, scientists consider cats to be way up there on the inteligence scale, right with dolphins and chimps.

i think dogs are smarter because dogs know their name and cats dont, but it doesnt mean i dont like cats. i like cats more than dogs.
