My new bengal is supposed to be pregnant but does not seem to be getting any larger. She has been making a strange noise for the last few days that sounds like an owww owww noise. She has not done this before. Do they make a different noise when getting close to giving birth. I am new to the breeding side of things. All answers greatfully appreciated.

Cats are pregnant for 63-65 days usually before they have their kittens. Do you know when she conceived her litter? The breeder you bought her from should be able to tell you this, or if you are the breeder you should know when she was mated.
I’m not sure about the noise though if she seems to be in pain or the pregnancy is not proceeding normally, a veterinarian will need to look at her to determine if there is a problem.
It is possible that she either lost the kittens very early in the pregnancy (they likely would have been reabsorbed into her body if the pregnancy was only a few days along, there isn’t necessarily any outward evidence) or the mating failed and she never was pregnant and has come back into heat. That would explain why she is no bigger and is calling like that, though only a vet can determine if the cat is actually pregnant. Some of them don’t seem to get much bigger right up until a few weeks before giving birth.
If you’re not experienced with breeding cats, you might try spending some time with a seasoned cat breeder and learning more about the hobby before you start breeding cats. Also, I know Bengals are a popular breed and you probably think you can make a lot of money off of the kittens, but once you factor in the costs of pregnancy care, vet care including vaccinations for the kittens, registration costs, etc, you may realize it is not as lucrative as you think. You also might want to remember that each kitten you sell is a home that a homeless kitten or cat in a shelter can now no longer get and may be euthanized.
And breeding pedigree animals is not as simple as mating two cats with registration papers together, if you are a responsible breeder you have to take into account the breed standard and only breed animals that will contribute to improving the breed and not spread genetic weaknesses or defects. For example, any animals with a health problem, however minor, should never be considered breeding stock and should be spayed or neutered and sold into a “pet” home with full disclosure of any health problems or behavioral issues. For Bengals and other designer hybrid breeds you need to pay attention especially to temperament and only breed calm, human-friendly animals and also those without symptoms of Irritable Bowel Disease, which early generation hybrids and some “stud-book tradition” lines are prone to.
You really need to research this before you become one of the dreaded “backyard breeders” of the world. Learn about the hobby first, for the sake of your cats’ health if nothing else!
