If he was using the box before and has stopped recently, he may have a urinary tract infection. He should be looked at by a veterinarian before you do anything else.

Hi-if your kitten is young, is he able to climb into the litter box or are the sides too high for him? If that\\\’s not the case, make sure he has a clean box to go potty in, they like it clean! If he is not neutered,he may be using the furniture to spray and mark his territory. Neutering is good thing for him! Good Luck!
