when he’s bad you should try what i call “kitty time out”…lock him in the bathroom for 10 minutes. it seems to work for my cats. my dad does the same with his boy popeye, and popeye can be a mean lil*$#@ lol. It usually calms him down.

What do you mean you try to calm him down by making him look out the window? If you’re holding your cat against his will, of course he isn’t going to be receptive to it and will bite and scratch. What sort of aggression are you seeing in him? What prompts the aggressive behavior?

my friends found him in the grass when he was just a very tiny baby. That might have something to do with it.

He was probably abused as a kitten by people, so now he thinks that people are bad.

Hi mcroni. I have the same problemo with my cat, Sapphire Maraduke. He’s got a fiery temper and I can’t calm him down. Kat told me to get this kind of spray that I plug in and it calms down the cat, I can try but I think i am not sure. It just feels unbearable when I try to love him but its not reciprocal. I just need help with his behavior. I wented to ask this question as well but you asked it first. I just hope everybody will help us. I’m sorry.

Kat probably told you about something called Feliway, which is something that is supposed to calm cats down.

You should definitely also bring your cat to the vet. Your cat may have a hidden medical problem, making her stressed out and angry.

I tried Feliway and it worked ok, but it's sorta expensive.

Feliway is ok - some people think it works, some don't. I tried it when I brought a new cat into my home to help keep my old cat less stressed out by the new guy. I don't know if it was the Feliway or the slow introduction process, but it was a relatively easy adjustment for her. You might try it to calm him down, but if he's really aggressive that might not work. The diffuser runs about $30-40 and only lasts for about a month (in a small area - one diffuser isn't going to work throughout your entire house).

If you're looking for good advice about how to curb your cat's bad behavior, it would be a good idea to give everyone the complete picture. What are some behaviors other than biting and scratching while you are holding him captive?
