We went for a more permanent solution in our garden. We laid cheap chicken wire down and then covered it with mulch. As soon as the cats try to dig in them they realize that there is wire there and they move on.

I would suggest getting a spray that repells cats from the pet store, but I also heard that cats really do not like the smell of lemon, orange or anything citrus, maby try spraying a natural lemon type spray on your garden could help? Good Luck!

i used a powder. it smells of citrus, which cats hate. generally. it worked for me. however that was a long time ago, and i dont know the name of it. it was an orange carton, with a cartoon pic of a cat on it. i got it at PETsMART.
