Do cat’s dream?

As do humans, cats alternate phases of deep and light sleep. Dreaming occurs during the deep sleep phase. During a cat’s deep-sleep phase the give-away is movement of his paws and claws, twitching of his whiskers, and flicking his ears.

The only physical action my himalayan has in his sleep (to indicate he is dreaming) is to wake himself up from a nightmare with a startle and a cry. He refuses to take ESL classes and tell me what the nightmare was about.
