Can’t get to sleep because my kitten still has too much energy.

3 Answers  |  Asked By: DiegoTheKittyCat   56

We usually leave during the day to go shopping or something and we can’t leave Diego ( our kitten.) alone in the house so we lock him in my room and since all he can really do in my room is sleep when we get home usually around my bedtime he is full of energy and won’t go to bed so I’m stuck with a crazy energy filled cat racing around my room and keeping me up! any ideas about what I can do to get him to calm down at bedtime?
Thanks :)

Cats are definitely nocturnal creatures. All small domestic cats descended from desert cats in the Middle East. Because of the heat of the day over there most cats sleep during the day and are active at night when it’s cooler out.

Our little kitties kept that trait and are still nocturnal. Fortunately, for most owners, their cats will develop their sleeping patterns and learn to sleep at night. But it can be very problematic for new kitten owners as kittens are almost always nocturnal winding up just before their humans’ bedtime. Again, they usually out grown this and learn their humans schedule but it’s still annoying to be pounced on at 2am and awoken out of a dead sleep by a bed leaping kitty!

My kitten keeps me up too! I guess you could try to fill your room with toys feathers and other things to keep your him busy. The other opion is get another cat so they can play together.

All cats are full of energy at night cause they sleep in day
Kittens can wake you up early and its not fun getting woken up by a bed leaping kitty

Try to get him playing in the day so in the night he will not wake you up early
