Why does my kitten overgroom her front paws?
I’ve had her paws checked and they are fine. She seems to get completely obsessed with cleaning them sometimes and I’m not sure this is healthy. She is otherwise happy and playful. Why could this be happening? (P.S. She was a rescue and her tail was broken off by someone before she was found.)

It’s normal.
Cats are just obsessivly clean creatures and spend most of thier time either grooming or sleeping. As long as she isn’t removing fur from her body during grooming it’s fine.

Cats will groom when they are board. Maybe stress. Your vet will know for sure.

I know that dogs sometimes have something they refer to as a “hot spot” - one specific place on their body that they lick incessantly. Maybe cats have something similar? I wouldn’t worry unless the skin on those front paws starts to become irritated.
