Why does my cat meow at night

5 Answers  |  Asked By: mikeymooper   1

My cat is a very loving cat. He is fixed, and about 3 years old now. Very much a lap cat and very vocal. But at night, not long after I go to bed, he starts meowing horrible! It’s almost like he’e whining, and it sounds like a nervous meow, or like he’s trying to say “Where’s my momma”? (Which is me lol) Anyone know why? He does sleep in my bed with me at night too.

No he is not locked in any room. I keep all doors open (except the front and back door obviously) And he always has food. It really is almost like he wants reassurance that I am still there, but then again he knows I’m in the bed. He will eventually come get in the bed with me, but the prior meowing is just awful

Maybe the cat is hungry or feeling scared or maybe he wants your attention and wants to play with you

cats are domestic animals (which means they sleep during the day and play during the night) so he just wants to play and have some attention because hes wide awake and no one is paying him attention because everyone is asleep.
