My female is in heat for the first time and I have two males who don’t act like they are interested at all, just look at her like “Shut up.” There is even a cat who hangs out at my window now, every night from about 7pm to 5 or 6am when I let my boys outside. I think he is there because of her, but he isn’t the problem, he is a stray and I leave some food out for him every night.
Izzie is the problem for the past two days she has been rolling around on the floor, army crawling on the floor, laying on her side and pulling herself along the floor with her front paws, running through my apartment doing this purr/meow combo thing, meowing loudly, cuddling with anything and everything, getting into everything, looking out the window and doing the purr/meow combo thing everytime something moves outside. It’s starting to get on my nerves and this morning when I let my boys out it got 10times worse, she got really ticked that they get to go out this week and she doesn’t. How much longer do I have to listen to this? lol. I love her, but enough is enough.

Female cats can go into heat and get pregnant as early as 4 months of age. They are usually in heat for 7 to 10 days at a time, and will go in and out of heat every week or two until they are mated or spayed.
It is best to spay and neuter all cats before they reach sexual maturity (as early as 3 months to before 6 months) to avoid pregnancy, deadly pyometra (uterus infection), urine marking/ spraying, discomfort to the cat and the annoying behavioral issues that unfixed cats, both male and female, display.
Please Spay and Neuter!

If we had the money we would, she just showed up at our door. She is ok once I get her to lay down and my boys don’t pay any attention to her she wants the one at the window, who is fixed. If getting her fixed was an option I’d do it, but we just can’t right now. Thank you for the replies, she is already starting to calm back down.

If I had the money I would have already. I understand that it’s important to fix your pets, but honestly the question was just how she would be going through this. This cat just showed up at my door, I was told not to let her in, but it was so hot this summer I couldn’t just send her away. I have posted her as found on craigslist, not knowing whether or not she had a home, no one answered. I posted her for adoption on craigslist with no luck and I’m not about to take her to PAWS for her to sit in a cage and possibly never find a home. My fiance and I live on one income that barely gets us by, we were only supposed to have one cat and it somehow ended up being 3. I didn’t ask for her, she just happened. If spaying her was an option financially, I would do it, but right now it isn’t. So can we please just stick with the topic, I know how important it is to her spayed. I’m sorry that I decided to take this poor little cat in, knowing I couldn’t afford her and trying to find her another home (no she isnt up for adoption anymore, she has a family for the first time in her life).
Instead of lecturing me though, I think it’s best to stick to the topic, especially since I’ve already stated in the question and in another reply that I simply cannot afford it. Thank you for your replies. Again not meaning to be rude/mean, but I don’t need to be lectured. I would rather her be in my home, warm and fed and not fixed than running around outside in this freezing weather, getting hit by a car.

I don’t know where you live but there are groups around here that will fix her for a very small price, sometimes free. It isw a wonderful thing you did, giving her a home. I am the same way and have kept a couple that have shown up at my door, sometimes sick. One popular group is Animal Birth Control more commonly known as “ABC”. I think they are even in the phone book but if not, ask a vet for a number. These groups work with the vets. Other then that, what she is doing is natural. she can’t help it, poor thing. I know it is easy for people to say “just spay”. I know what it is like to not have the money. Find a number for these people and explain to them what happened. Explain that you don’t want to turn her out and that you want to give her a home, but need help in the “getting her fixed area”. Good luck and God bless you!!

Thank you. We actually do have something like that, they work with PAWS, but they require you to be on some sort of government program. While we don't have much money, we make just barely too much to be on anything. lol. I will look into it again, but I'm pretty sure that is all we have here. Thanks again, I appreciate your reply.

I think you should spay her. If you don’t, the things she does during heat may become habit. Plus there are alot of unwanted kittens in the world. Do you need to make more.
