No, in the wild, cats may live their whole life without making one sound. Some cats ulike the Siamese are just quiet.

Just like people, some cats talk alot, and some cats don’t. There is no need to be worried.

I have one cat that has meowed only twice in almost four years. It was raised as a single kitten and never learned how, and never needed to know how. The first time she meowed was just an experiment - she had seen that a cat’s meow can get attention, and wanted to learn how. The second time was to greet me after a very long absence (on her part).
