this question is kind of hard to answer. cats dont have super good memory, but will remember mostly bad and good things that happened to them a long time ago. say you got mad and kicked your cat, she will remember if for her whole life. thats why you should never do anything bad to your cat, it will remember it for its whole life

Actually just spoke to my vet and he said: Cats have a memory that can be up to 200 times more retentive than dogs. The feline memory only retains what he regards as useful function therefore a cat's memory is quite selective.

i agree! if a cat has been abused by a man (kicked or hit or something) the cat might take a disliking to every man they ever see... if they are treated very well i believe they will remember you when they die. dont give me any minuses for they remember when they die because, hey!, it's possible!

i think cats also have a good memory because, hey!, i dont think they have to look for the food bowl every time they are hungry!

Cats are very intelligent creatures, and yes. They have good memories. My cat always knows that he has a special bowl on the shelf in the bedroom. He also knows where the Pounce is kept!!

I believe they do. But I think when they are real young not so much. My kitten was given to me by my best friend. She kept his sister. 5 days after she gave him to me I watched her son and thought it would be cute for the brother and sister to see each other. They didnt remember each other at all! I couldnt understand why if it had only been 5 days! I will just say I will never do that again. It was the worst 4 hours I had had since childbirth!!!!!!!
