I would recommend putting short leashes on the ducks feet. The leashes should be long enough to allow the ducks to fly away from the kittens, but not so long to endanger the ducks (for example: power lines, bald eagles). You definitely don’t want to put the leash around the ducks neck like you would for a cat or dog.

ok, so from what i read about your ducks & cats, i think that maybe the only reason your cat is using her instinct to hunt the ducks as food for her kittens like they do in the wild, bu ti’m pretty sure her intentions are not to hurt the ducks even before the delivery of her kittens. but don’t think your cat is a vicious duck killer. i think maybe that you should keep the all the cats inside the house- not the barn- for the safety of the ducks if you don’t want them to get injured or killed. but yes, you’re right, you can’t keep ducks locked up, they’d go crazy. so if you keep the ducks in the barn @ night and let them out side during the day. i’m saying this as a protection of both animals. i hoped i helped in the best way i could. :)

if the kittens are aggravating the ducks will fly away and avoid them. ducks know how to solve their problems so dont worry about your ducks. theyll be okay.
