So, I have 2 male cats 6 months apart. Jake, is 3 years old - Jimmy, is 2.5 Years old.
Jimmy was a feral cat, he has a curly tail because his body was trapped under a rock at a very young age - he looks funny - his legs are too long for his body and he is the lighter cat.
Jake, adopted from a humane society at 8 weeks old he is the more dominant - chunky muscular cat. We got jake first in the family.
Jake, bites jimmy a lot and I know there are ways of felines to show whos boss but it has gotten out of hand where jimmy sometimes has teeth marks on his neck.
They DO get a long, they are like brothers to eachother. But when Jake thinks its play time he picks on jimmy a lot and nothing we have done has helped this matter.
Both cats were spayed at appropriate ages. They are equally given attention, and are in good care.
Does anyone know what might be causing jake to be this harsh?

How long ago did you get Jimmy? Were they getting along before this or has the aggression escalated?
I disagree with some of these statements about 2 cats of the same gender not being able to be friends. It may not be the norm, but I have a friend with several male cats within close age range and they coexist just fine. Neither are big “play” cats, though. Just lazy lumps of cats!
Another friend of mine had three females, 2 were several months apart, one was a year younger, and they acted like a pack more than independents!
Is Jake actually breaking the skin, causing bleeding? I was told that this was the sign that the play has turned to more of a fight.
Has anything changed to cause this aggression?

one of your cat is jealous of your other one because i lost one of my cat because of this it once bit my other cat a small kitten like yours and we slapped him so he ran away and only came on the day when he was going to die

cats of the same gender CAN stay together and the gap in their age has nothing to do with it…..it seems to me that they are just playing….if their is no blood drawn i wouldnt worry about it….that cat thats biting is just trying to get the other ones attention to play
