My kitten is biting a lot, my hands are full of cuts. Is it normal for a 3month old kitten to bite? Is there any way to stop it?

That could be true from the first answer however the kitten is young and could possibly be just teething. Our cats teethed up to 6 months and lost their kitten teeth much like a human child. I would suggest buying a big squishy non-squeaky toy that he/she can chew on and likes to chew on to ease the discomfort and your hands.

It is normal for a kitten to bite, but not excessively. Your kitten is probably biting excessively because when it was only a few weeks old, somebody played with it roughly and thought the nips and bites were cute, because they didn\\\’t hurt at that time. However, when the cat grows up, the bites will start to hurt.

To prevent your kitten from biting, don\\\’t let your kitten play with your body. If there is an occurrence where your cat bites, pick it up and place it in an isolated room for 5-10 minutes. This should teach the kitten that biting will not be tolerated.

I know I didn\\\’t cover all the information to prevent your kitten from biting you, so here is a great link: http://cats.about.com/cs/behavioralissues/a/bite_scrat.htm
