A stray cat adopted me but my cats don’t like it…

5 Answers  |  Asked By: Gretel   13

What should I do? My cats live in the garage but the stray’s taken it over. Every time we scare it away it comes back! It’s smaller than my cats but they’re scared of it and it hasn’t been mean to them that I know of. Please help!

I think you are right - cats don\\\’t like sick cats. But they also don\\\’t like fearless cats and will shy away from them, or even run away. It probably has hissed or even growled at them when you were not around, and maybe took a swipe at one at first.

If you want it to leave, set up a schedule to feed your cats indoors, so the stray doesn\\\’t get any. It may hang around for a week or more, hoping you go back to feeding them in the garage, while it searches the neighborhood for another source of food. Don\’t assume it is gone for good until at least 8-10 days have gone by without it - it may remember your house with fondness and stop back for an occassional visit.

you see thats just the thing you don\\\’t KNOW of this rancid stray cat being mean to your cats but i guarantee it is!!! the easiest option is to kill this stray cat (since it has no home anyways) and cut the body up into portions to feed your cats… it will save money since you won\\\’t have to but cat food for a week… i personally love doing this and enjoy killing cats that arent even stray!! such as my neighbors cats… but enough about me… i hope this helps u TATA!!

Well, If you are feeding it, this is the reason why it is coming back.
If your cats are the ones afraid of it, that\\\’s because they don\\\’t know it. I\\\’m not saying put them in the same room and close the door, but perhaps you should let your cats into the garage occasionally.

Hope That Helps,

Thank you, but all the cats are allowed free access in and out of the garage. Thanks anyway!☺

Now I\\\’m starting to think my cats don\\\’t like the stray because it might be sick (it\\\’s had diarrhea) should I feed it some rice? Thanks!
