Will my boy mouse mate with a girl hamster?
Im sorry this isn’t a cat question but this is important. I was thinking of getting a girl hamster to live with my boy mouse because my girl mouse is in a seperate cage and my boy mouse looks lonely. so we cant find a boy mouse so i was thinking maybe a girl HAMSTER. would they mate?

Well thanks, on Wikianswers.com it said no because they're a different speices, but I just wanted to make sure from the people on here.

You're asking for trouble if you put a mouse and a hamster together. They will kill each other!!! My mother told you that she contacted a friend who runs a pet shop and raises mice and she keeps the father with the mother. I worked at that pet shop and as long as there is only ONE male with the female, there won’t be any problems. If you have TWO males with a female, they will fight over her. Put the dad back with the mother!! Then when the babies are born and old enough to be taken away from the mother, put the dad and the boys together and the mom and the girls.

They won't mate because they are different species but you can NOT put a mouse with a hamster!
