Of course cats don\\\’t \\\”understand\\\” human language at face value. They\\\’re cats. What they do understand, however, is tone of voice & body language, so regardless of what you say to them in whatever language you use, they\\\’ll pick up on those cues.
They can also learn & respond to specific words/sounds if you train them to.

lol yeah like you can say \\\”you\\\’re a bad kitty\\\” but in a happy singsong tone & they\\\’ll think youre praising them, or you could say, \\\”i love you kitty!\\\” but yell it loud & nasty & they\\\’d think they\\\’re in trouble. it\\\’s all about the tone!!!!!!!
(i tried to post this as a comment to ziggybo43\\\’s post but it woulnd\\\’t work)

If the cat get to know to you it will learn to understand your tone the same as a cat that was born in a house hearing people its whole life.

That\\\’s a very good question! I don\\\’t know if they would nderstand you or not. Because cats seem to understand humans. Now i\\\’m going to be thinking about it until i find out!

they only know words if they learn them. a human has to teach them.
