Definitely check out your local Shelter first. The cats at Petco already have a better chance at being adopted even though they come from the shelter too. Our Petco only adopts out pets from our local humane socities. THey never buy cats from breeders and then resell them to the public. Never. Pet land does that though, they also buy puppymill dogs. Shame on them!

It would also be nice if you would consider adopting and older cat who may never be adopted because everyone, like you, is looking for a cute little kitten. Older cats need love to. :o)

yeah i think i might go to a kill shelter. my mom said that we cud go 2 petco 2morrow and then the place where we sent my cat milo to its a no kill shelter and my mom said that there was this cute calico kitten and this cat that looked EXACTLY like my cat yoda who just died :-(

but ill ask her to see if we could go to a kill shelter too

I would get him from a shelter those petco cats are pampered and won’t be put down. a no kill shelter normaly have them in good safe enviorments and since they won’t get killed i would go for adoption from a kill shelter then you not only have a great pet you save a life!! : )

Definently get him/her from a kill shelter! (Mixed breed cats are usually healthier than pure breed, pedigreed cats.)

No cutiekitties is right hewittk. Mix breeds usually are more healthy. Pure breds often have genetic defaults.

You should go to a kill shelter if you want any age of cats. You should go to a breeder so you can get kittens and a specific type too!

you should get it from a kill shelter becuase a non kill sheletr has a better cahnce of getting rescued but from a kill shelter they dont have alot of time to live your there only chance to survive it either you to adopt them or the next day there life is over becuase of your decision to get from a non kill shelter i got nothing against a non kill shelter but come on which has a better chance to survive you do the math please pick the right choice for the animals sake.make them proud

Go to a good pet shelter, or to the pound. There are a lot of unwanted litters of kitten’s waiting to be adopted, for a reasonable adoption fee. If you are serious about owning a pet, and you are a loving, caring, responsible, person who doesn’t abuse animals, then paying a small amount of money should not bother you. It shows you are financially prepared as well as physically and emotionally. This will also allow you to get a heathy kitten that has been vet checked, had its first shots, and more than likely has been spayed or neutered. Be careful when dealing with breeders, pet stores, and people giving animals away for free. Breeders, and pets stores have been known to receive animals from ‘farms’! Places where animals are kept in deplorable conditions, and are likely to have some form of deformity or undiagnosed illness, which could leave you and your pet suffering. Please look long and hard, and be sure the kitty you chose is happy and healthy. Meow for now!

I would definatly go to a kill shelter, because, like catboy said, you would save a cat’s life. Wouldn’t that be nice! Also you might want to consider getting an adult cat. They have a lower chance of being adopted and a higher chance of being killed.
