I’m curious as to how you ended up with so many. Did your cat give birth to them? I do hope if that’s how you ended up with “too many cats” that you’ve spayed and neutered them so you won’t get into a bigger bind than you are now. Shelters are full in our area. Kittens can get into the shelters but adult cats are on waiting lists. Call your local shelter and see if they have openings. Be aware that many shelters are NOT no kill. Human societies do put cats down when they need to make room or the cat is too old for adoption. Check with any cat rescue agencies to see if they have programs to spay and neuter these cats and help you with placing them in good homes. We have worked with Animal Allies as we rescue cats and then find homes for them. They have spayed many of our future adoptable cats at a discounted price. You could post them on petfinder.com. I would be very careful and screen potential families that want to adopt your cats. We have an agreement that they must sign and we do check on them. We call their vets, references and we do home checks. Advertising “Free to good home” can put the poor cat into a situation where he’s not taken care of. If they can’t afford to pay a small adoption fee, then they can’t afford to have a cat. The fee we ask for is usually just to cover spaying and the shots that we’ve done on them. We’re not out to make money, just to make sure our rescues are placed in safe and loving homes and will not end up back on the street.

Yes i had 2 cats that got pregnant a month apart of each other. they are all still kittens the 2 mothers are between 8 months and a year, then i have 3 kittens that are 4 months old and 5 minus 1 that are 3 months old. they are all adorable but i have to find a place for them now i can no longer have the cats. Thank you for your reply and i will take it in to consideration.

Shelters being as full as they are will “put down” older cats to make room. If you haven’t already check out your local pet stores, feed stores (I’ve come across plenty that carry cats), or resort to the classic bulletin board ad “free cats to good home”.If it was a litter, I recommend trying the pet stores around you. The pet store where I live, will take the kittens to get their first set of shots and then sell them. If you happen to have the Queen(mama cat) They will take her in when you give them the kittens and get her fixed for you as a thanks for the kittens. Also lots of vets will work out payments with you if you can’t afford their services.
Best of luck to you, and I hope you find your pets great homes! Tasia.

One thing that people advise is that if you’re giving away the cat — don’t actually give it away for free, but charge $10-$20. If people have to pay some money for the cat, even if it’s a small amount, they have a different attitude toward it. You will help to weed out people who will take a cat for free because they don’t feel like they have to take care of it very well. If they have to think about it, and fork over a little bit of money, they’ll take it more seriously.

If you put an ad in the paper, I am sure that there are people that will call wanting a kitten. And also for the young ones, if you take them to a pet shop, they may take them and they will get a good home there. In April I found a litter of 6 kittens and I had to bottle feed them all because the mother was a stray and she abandoned them on the roof. So when they got to be 8 weeks old, I got all of them their first shots and put an ad on KIJIJI.COM Free Kittens to Good Home and within 2 weeks they were all gone. And some of the people keep in touch with me to let me know how the kittens are doing. You could also put up flyers for them at stores and schools too. Good luck.

Find an animal shelter that does not euthanize animals due to their age or how long they have been there. Take the kittens there. Then you won\\\’t feel bad for the adult cats. Kittens get adopted quickly.
