I’m very sorry for your loss. there may be resources at http://www.petloss.com that can comfort you.
And and hate to say this… but let this be a lesson. Next time you get a cat… keep it inside where it is safe from the dangers of outdoor life.

If tears could build a stairway
And memory a lane,
I’d walk right up to heaven
And bring you home again….
People, please, don’t let your cats outside…..

Very nice answer. It sucks cause some people, without thinking of what could happen to their cat, let their cats go out. Lets hope people do realize that there is always danger outside.

It will be impossible to get your mind off her, but you shouldn’t be trying to get your mind off her, you should cherish the good moments you had with her.
I’m not trying to be mean, but was your cat an outdoor cat? If it was, this is one of the reasons to keep your cat inside. How old was Gabrella when she died. Please use this as a reminder to keep your cat inside.
Last question, how did you know it was killed by a car?

It is never easy to lose a beloved friend. Please give more love to your other cats…they can help you to heal. I am so sorry about Gabrella!

Sometimes forgetting isn’t the best thing. If you keep your sadness inside you when you let it out it will just be worse. There’s this really pretty writing called The Rainbow Brigde. It’s also really sad though! It helped me deal with my sadness when my cat French Fry died. Here it is:
Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge.
When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge.
There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together.
There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable.
All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor; those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by.
The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind.
They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent; His eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster.
You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart.
Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together….

Don’t try to forget her. Let time ease the pain. Love on your other cats. Try to do other things you like to do. You will not feel like it but it will get you back into life. The pain doesn’t go away, but your mind can shut out bad and look at the good. Even after years if I think of the time of death of my Candy I will sit and cry. I did the things I liked doing, but my heart wasn’t in them. I believe they wait for you. Take comfort that you will see them again.

you should try to do stuff to take your mind off it

You should cherish the moments you had with her also maybe getting another cat will help you not think of her. Also try fostering kittens or injured cats from your local SPCA or shelter. I have fosterd kittens and it makes me so happy that they are going to be adopted faster because they are socailized.

if you see a cat on the street call a shelter ,or take in the cat so you know you saved a life, though a life was lost

I was once grieving deeply for my cat who had died after 6 months of vet trips trying to save him. I was devastated. I couldn’t think of anything else. I spoke to a friend of mine who said “You can’t change what’s happened. You grieve but life goes on and sadly you have to move on. Get out there and rescue a kitten or a cat.” I thought- how cold…. but I realized what he was talking about. Loving another helps us heal. And there are many homeless cats out there. But please, keep your next kitten inside. That way Gabrella’s death will not have been in vain. We learn through life’s disappointments and pain. It’s how we handle the future with what we learned. Like this…

Its difficult to get your cat off your mind , whom you were so closed to. It is very hurting i know. Remember the good moments you shared with her. Don’ t forget them.
But i want to tell you that as she was an outdoor cat thats the reason behind this accident. You should keep your other cats inside.

What? How can you forget so easily? Brainwash? If your cat passed away, would you just forget about the things you went through with the cat and the love you had for it? Theres one simply answer: you can never forget a cat you loved, and you shouldnt try to forget, think of the good things you did with it.
