How many cats (or any other pet for that matter) should be determined on a case by case basis and should depend on your means to care for them. If you can not afford to properly care for 5 animals, then it’s to many. If you do not have the time to devote to 5 animals everyday, then you have to many. If you do not have the space for 5 animals then it’s to many.

In my opinion, if your home is clean, your cats are loved daily, they are fed properly, they are happy and they receive any and all medical attention that they need when they need it, then you are within the number of animals you can care for.

We have 14 rescue cats that share about 6,000 square feet of living space. They are all played with daily, they are fed the best diet we can give them (raw), a vet comes out once a year for every ones general health checkup, and if they need a vet they are taken in right away without any hesitation. Our home is clean and we are able to keep up with the chores they create for us.

In our case, 14 cats works for us. 15 would certainly be one to many though. ;o)

We have 3 cats but one ran away and is now missing :( but we still have 2 and they have a lil tabby friend! i love cats and know lots about them!

if you know about cats and what you are doing then keep going. if you don’t have or do any of the things on here then 5 may be too many for you. if ypu can’t cope sell some to good homes.

It depends on how much space you have for them and how well you can take care of them.I have 4 cats I see tons and about 5 more that come and go as they please.I can take care of them well and if you can take care of 5,it’s the perfect number!;)
