If you take the kitten to the vet for immunizations, and try to keep it indoors, why would it die or be hurt? It will die - sometime, but if you take care of it it could die of old age. Planning ahead (in case something happens - like what to do in a fire) is good and reasonable - but looking ahead and seeing only doom and gloom is not good or even reasonable.

of course it will die some day - that\\\’s life! but if u can give it proper care (vet visits, good food, water, toys, etc.) there\\\’s no reason to be scared of having one! y so scared??? just do ur research & make sure ur able to care for it properly. learn all you can about cats before you bring one home & you\\\’ll be fine.

Comments aren\\\’t working (surprise, surprise…), so in response to youmna\\\’s comment to jpete46:

What are her concerns? It\\\’s important that the adult(s) in your household are on board with getting a cat, as well, since they will ultimately bear the brunt of the financial responsibilities of owning a cat (and they can be big! Especially if the cat gets ill). If you share some of your specific concerns, maybe we can be more helpful.

There\\\’s no need to worry if it gets sick take it to the vet. Plus if you keep him indoors how can it get hurt.
