What color is my cat’s shadow going to be?

5 Answers  |  Asked By: BurmeseBlueStone   1

I read somewhere that some breeds of cats have different color shadows, but I don’t know which ones. I have two kittys now but they just have boring, mostly black shadows, so I am giving them to my building superintendent because he doesn’t know any better. I was ordering a new Siamese kitty but I think his shadow will probably be black, because the farmer who is adopting him to me says it looks black to him. (I haven’t seen the kitten yet). Are Siamese cats the ones with better shadows? And before you saying I am using the wrong kind of light I have tried all kinds even flashlights but to no success. I even bleached the tail of one of my cats but he came out with the same shadow. Help! I don’t know what to do!

Shadows don’t have a color, period. A shadow is just what you get when an object blocks light, it doesn’t matter what the object is. A cat’s shadow is the same color as a rock’s shadow or a dog’s shadow or a house’s shadow or any other kind of shadow because it doesn’t really have a color at all. Light can have a color, but shadow is just the absence of light, it isn’t a thing in itself.

Everyone’s shadow is dark, not a different color. My aunt has 7 different cats and their shadows are dark gray

nothing has a colored shadow.A shadow appears when light is blocked by a solid object and the shadow is always black no matter what color the object(in this case a cat)is.So a shadow cant be a color so where ever you read that isnt a good source of info.
