Those are the recognized breeds but if you want to get technical about it there are many many new breeds being developed all the time that have not yet recieved recognition in all cat fancy organizations. Some have gotten provisional status only as well. So there is no way to tell exactly how many breeds there are as new ones are being invented all the time.

way more than 348. some cats can be found in the wild. that counts as about…12 more. equals 360. thats alot. if you found one in a forest near you,put it in a cat shelter. its not safe for cats to be out there.
heres a few tips to keep your cat in the house.
1. keep the door shut.
2.grap your cat if it tries to go outside.
3.if you are loading some stuff or anything else and you have to keep the door open, put the cat in a cage or a different room.
4.hope those tips worked!!!

I think you could never say the exact number of how many breeds their are, with cross-breeding and everything like that. But, I know this: there are definitely over seventy.
You can thank me for the tip later :),

Read this link. http://www.cfa.org/breeds.html The Cat Fanciers Association states there are 39 different cat breeds. Please note though that many cats are mixed breeds, but there are 39 purebred cat breeds in the world.

If you don't know, don't just guess. DON'T post an answer just for the paw points. Me and Daisy were just talking about posters who do stuff like that. Help keep cats.com helpful.
